Board of Directors - 2025-2027
Goal Statement: I strive to improve forensic nursing practices by advocating for a multidisciplinary approach that seamlessly integrates mental health support with legal advocacy, benefiting survivors, colleagues, and the broader forensic nursing community.
Nikol Hamilton is a highly accomplished advanced practice nurse with dual master’s degrees, recognized for her significant contributions to forensic maternal mental health and integrative psychiatry. She holds a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner degree from the University of Cincinnati and a Family/Community Clinical Nurse Specialist and Nurse Educator degree from the University of Central Arkansas. Currently, Hamilton is advancing her education by pursuing a Doctor of Nursing Practice in Executive Leadership at Arkansas State University, with an expected graduation in 2025.
As the founder and owner of Nourish Psychiatry, PLLC, Hamilton provides holistic care for women experiencing violence during their reproductive years. Her guiding principle, “Nourishing Minds, Supporting Mothers,” showcases her commitment to creating a safe-haven for perinatal care, where she addresses critical issues such as perinatal OCD, maternal suicide, mother-baby attachment, and somatic therapies aimed at enhancing gut-brain resiliency.
With over 23 years of healthcare experience, Hamilton has also excelled as a legal nurse consultant since 2006, specializing in forensic consultative needs related to birth traumas, maternal homicide, and personal injury cases. Through her flagship program, Justice Rx, she empowers survivors by offering legal nurse consulting, nurse mediation, victim impact support, court accompaniment, and restorative justice circles focused on family violence issues. Other experiential modalities include T.R.E.A.T. (True Revelation Equine Assisted Therapy), a trauma-informed equine-assisted therapy program designed to foster resilience among survivors. Additionally, as a certified faith community nurse, she integrates spiritual care into her practice.
Beyond clinical work, Hamilton serves as an online faculty member at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and advocates for increased nursing representation on boards. Her interests also include nurse entrepreneurship, digital health competency, and rural health initiatives. Notable accolades include being nominated as a 2013 White House Champion for Change and serving as a U.S. Call on Congress Ambassador for Colorectal Cancer Prevention. That same year, she was awarded the UAMS Top 10 Nurse Speaker’s Bureau distinction. Hamilton is passionate about empowering individuals to understand their healthcare rights and navigate their paths to healing. With her unique blend of clinical expertise and compassionate care, she continues to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those she serves through forensic nursing and holistic mental health practices.
