Catherine Rossi

Catherine Rossi is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and board-certified Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) for pediatrics, adults, and adolescents. She has over 25 years of healthcare experience and has been a practicing forensic nurse since 1997. She earned her Master's degree from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill in 2014 and practices with and directs the Forensic Nursing Program with the Cone Health System in Central North Carolina which she established.
Rossi has developed significant expertise in the field of forensic nursing and interpersonal violence and is frequently invited to lecture extensively for law enforcement, attorneys, and healthcare providers on a wide range of forensic nursing topics such as sexual assault, human trafficking, and strangulation. In addition, Rossi has served as an expert witness and consultant on complex forensic legal proceedings. She has published and presented at the local, state, and national level on key forensic issues and topics.
She is a founding board member for the Academy of Forensic Nursing where she has served as president, president-elect, and is currently serving as immediate past president. She is a lifetime member of the International Association of Forensic Nurses.
