THE ACADEMY IS EXCITED TO WELCOME LAURIE CHARLES AND STACEY MITCHELL FOR THIS VERY SPECIAL 90-MINUTE WEBINAR
The session will provide the attendee with the latest information on the appropriate storage, preservation, and release of patient health information, as well as information on patients' rights regarding access to that information.
Clinicians are required to maintain patients’ health information confidential, as delineated in the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996. Sexual assault health care information, including images, require an additional level of protection. Clinicians cannot release protected health information (PHI) without the patient’s consent, but the patient has a right to those records. This webinar will discuss patients’ rights, safety, and security of PHI, appropriate storage, and encryption of records, as well as proper release of records.
This Webinar is FREE and open to all that wish to attend! Looking forward to seeing you there!
