Our free Community Conversation Series delves into topics covered in the Sexual Assault Medical Forensic Exam (SAMFE) Virtual Practicum. In this session Detective Toni Dias of Davis, California Police Department, Jennifer Heard, of Alachua County (Florida) Victim Services and Rape Crisis Center, Erik Simon of Clinical Practice Resources, and michael munson of FORGE will discuss how we can better advocate and care for transgender patients.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
As a result of this webinar, participants will be better able to:
Identify approaches for gathering information without prying, allowing the survivor/patient to decide what they disclose and what they don’t.
Navigate potentially difficult topics with transgender survivors (STIs, pregnancy) while maintaining trust.
Describe ways medical providers, advocates, law enforcement, and allied professionals can provide a collective community response to transgender survivors.
