Effective 12/29/20 but AGs office has 2 years to implement the system
This act allows victims of domestic violence, stalking, human trafficking, or sexual assault, who are registered to vote or pay utilities, to keep their address confidential. Protects survivor’s addresses for their safety.
The Department of technology, management, and budget will receive participant’s mail and forward it to program participants. They can apply on line. Once granted the AGs office issues a unique identification number and participation card and provides information about how to use it. Certification is valid for 4 years from the date of application. For information changes, within those four years, they have 30 days to update the AGs office. Survivors/victims can submit renewal applications if they still wish to participate after the four years.
