THE ACADEMY IS EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE THE RETURN OF AFN BOARD MEMBER DEBRA S. HOLBROOK FOR THIS SPECIAL 90-MINUTE AFN WEBINAR
This webinar is designed to assure that Forensic Nurses and community stakeholders understand the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) regulations and assure forensic medical evidentiary care to incarcerated persons. As Forensic Programs that traditionally see victims of sexual assault become more integrated into caring for all forms of violence this webinar will assure understanding of how and why suspect examinations are often critical components of creating a comprehensive body of evidence. Participants will review search and seizure warrants, the suspect evidentiary examination, and the review of the components of a suspect "kit". To remain unbiased, several case studies will be shared to demonstrate how suspect exams influenced judicial outcomes in corroborating or refuting victim statements. This Webinar is open to all AFN Members! Looking forward to seeing you there! Don't miss your opportunity to: - Understand PREA regulations in the care of a suspect. - Define the essential elements of an effective search and seizure warrant. - Learn the components of a suspect evidentiary exam kit.
