Sian Hengeveld

Sian Hengeveld has been an assistant prosecutor at the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office for over 20 years. Hengeveld is currently the Chief of Trials and Circuit Court, responsible for overseeing approximately 70 assistant prosecutors and their dockets and trials. Prior to this position, she was a member of the Child Protection Unit where she had the opportunity to try dozens of felony cases, including cases involving criminal sexual conduct, child abuse, Abusive Head Trauma, child homicide, and human trafficking. Hengeveld was part of the multi-disciplinary team at Care House and participated in hundreds of forensic interviews.  Additionally, during her time in the prosecutor’s office, Hengeveld has held, or currently holds, the positions of Deputy Chief of the Major Crimes Unit, Chief of the Consumer Fraud Unit, and Chief of Training. She considers herself incredibly fortunate to work with very talented and dedicated detectives, forensic nurses, forensic interviewers, victim advocates and organizations, and prosecutors during her career.
