Frequent visitors to the Academy of Forensic Nursing website have probably utilized the AFN Event Calendar to stay current on upcoming Wednesday Webinars, conferences, bootcamps, and special events. Now, the Event Calendar is even more powerful.

We just added a new feature to the calendar for AFN members only: a full schedule of Special Interest Group (SIG) and Committee meetings.

All AFN members are invited to join the meetings for AFN SIGs or committees any time. By accessing these listings, members know when and how to join each meeting, using the listed Google Meet or Zoom links.

Here's how to get started:

1. First, be sure to log in to GoAFN.org. You’ll find the “Member Login” button at the top of the home page – or go to Membership > Manage Account.

2. The Event Calendar is located under the “News + Events” menu.

3. After logging in, you will see the full schedule of meetings, along with webinars, bootcamps, and conferences. Note the event categories are color coded: Pink for SIG meetings, blue for committee meetings, etc.

   
   

4. Click a meeting to get more information. On the meeting page, you’ll find:

   • Description of the SIG or committee

   • Names of the chair and co-chair

   • Link to the meeting in Google Meet or Zoom

   • Date, start time, and end time for the meeting

Additional features of the Event Calendar include:

• Filter the event type by clicking “Show” and selecting the type of event you’d like to view on the calendar.

• Add the events to your personal calendar! Just click “Subscribe” and choose an option to populate your own calendar with AFN events.
