Sarah Pederson is the Statewide Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) Coordinator for Georgia’s Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (CJCC), leading statewide efforts to establish and support SANE programs. She facilitates training and education for SANE nurses and Sexual Assault Response Teams (SART), ensuring patient-centered and professional care for sexual assault victims.
Previously, Pederson managed SANE services for liveSAFE Resources, overseeing forensic exams and community outreach in Cobb, Cherokee, and Paulding counties. With a background in women’s health, she has worked as a labor and delivery nurse at Northside and Kennestone Hospitals.
Pederson earned her Master of Nursing from Georgia State University in December 2025 and is pursuing board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. A recognized expert, she lectures on forensic nursing topics and has received the 2019 Pat Head Dignity Award for her commitment to victim advocacy.
